Existing Building

The existing stadium - added on to over the years, has fallen in to disrepair.

Assembling a team that included REX, Tom Leader Studio, and Ove Arup – we were one of three invited participants in this competition to reinvent Eden Gardens, one of the oldest and largest cricket stadiums in the world.

Regional Plan

This is Downtown Kolkata and a highlighted zone where the main recreational space is.

With just 16 months to prepare the stadium for World Cup 2011, our strategy was to create a system that was flexible, dynamic, and easily installed – developing a self cleaning fabric system for the exterior and a site strategy that would take advantage of an adjacent park.
